Dr Iain Wood

Founder · GP

Began training at the University of St Andrews while serving with the Royal Marines Reserve, earning his Green Beret before completing his medical degree at Manchester. He spent almost 24 years in the Royal Marines and Royal Navy: a frontline doctor in Afghanistan, Regimental Medical Officer to 40 Commando, and later NATO Medical Advisor in Italy. His final military appointment brought him to Gibraltar as Principal Medical Officer, retiring as a Surgeon Commander in 2021. He founded Wayfarer Health in 2023 to provide personal, accessible care built around continuity and actually knowing the people we look after, and combines general practice with particular expertise in occupational, maritime and remote medicine.

Dr Aaron Dehghan

GP

British-trained in Manchester, Imperial College London and Oxford, with academic prizes and published research into menopause, body composition and cardiovascular risk. Wide postgraduate training from geriatrics and emergency care to obstetrics and psychiatry, plus experience at Cedars-Sinai and a Swiss longevity clinic. Now rooted in Gibraltar with a strong interest in preventive health.

Dr Eva Carneiro

Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine

BMedSci, BMBS, MSc (Sports Medicine), CCT, FFSEM. Originally from Gibraltar, Dr Eva Carneiro is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine with extensive experience treating both elite athletes and people with everyday musculoskeletal problems. After qualifying from the University of Nottingham, she worked with the Olympic Medical Institute and England Women's Football before joining Chelsea Football Club, where she served as First Team Doctor and Assistant Medical Director. A Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, she specialises in sports injuries, complex and persistent musculoskeletal conditions, rehabilitation and injury prevention. She also offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection therapy for selected tendon and joint conditions. She brings her experience from elite professional sport to helping people of all activity levels recover from injury and return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr Christopher Rodríguez

Consultant Radiologist

FRCR, MRCS, MB BCh (Hons); UK GMC and Gibraltar registered. A consultant radiologist with specialist interests in abdominal and paediatric imaging, and extensive expertise in diagnostic ultrasound. Originally from Gibraltar, he trained at the University of Wales College of Medicine before specialist training in clinical radiology, returning to Gibraltar to work as a consultant across both public and private healthcare. At Wayfarer he provides the full ultrasound service, combining extensive imaging experience with a practical approach aimed at clear and timely diagnosis.

Dr Sharon Hillson

Counselling Psychologist

An HCPC- and GMRB-registered Counselling Psychologist with a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Sharon has worked across community, inpatient, crisis and specialist mental health services. She has particular experience supporting people with anxiety, trauma, emotional difficulties, psychosis and more complex mental health needs, drawing on EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT and Schema Therapy. Her approach is compassionate and collaborative, centred on the individual, a space where people can feel heard and supported without judgement. At the heart of it is a simple belief: no one is immune to struggling, and no one should have to face it alone.

Laura Azuaga Perez

Registered Nurse

More than ten years across hospital and primary care nursing in Gibraltar and Spain, including A&E and ITU at St Bernard's Hospital and many years in private primary care, covering paediatrics, preventative health and minor surgery. Laura has a particular interest in travel medicine and vaccinations, having completed her Diploma in Travel Medicine with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and leads our travel clinic and immunisation service.

Judith Wood

Specialist Geriatric Physiotherapist

An experienced physiotherapist specialising in the care of older adults, focused on helping people maintain mobility, strength, balance and independence. She provides assessment and rehabilitation for mobility and balance problems, falls prevention, frailty and reduced physical function, and recovery following illness, hospital admission, surgery or injury, including home visits. Judith has extensive experience working with older people in Gibraltar, and received the Allied Health Professional Award at the Gibraltar Health Authority Staff Awards in 2025.

Joyce Evans

Physiotherapist

More than 25 years of experience, with a particular background in sports physiotherapy, rehabilitation and musculoskeletal care. Joyce has worked extensively within sport and has been physiotherapist for Gibraltar Rugby Football Club, supporting players through injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. At Wayfarer she treats muscle and joint pain, sports injuries, back and neck pain, sprains and strains, and post-operative rehabilitation, with a practical approach aimed at returning people safely to the activities that matter to them.

Gracey Griffiths Zammitt

Practice Manager

Gracey has spent years working in healthcare in Gibraltar, and is at the centre of the day-to-day running of the clinic, keeping the practice organised and making sure patients, clinicians and the wider team have what they need, often before anyone has asked. Many patients will already know her as a familiar face: warm, approachable and exceptionally organised.

Angie Norton Robba

Patient Coordinator

Born and raised in Gibraltar, Angie has spent more than 20 years across both public and private healthcare, with extensive experience in patient coordination, medical records and secretarial work. She plays a large part in keeping the day-to-day running of the clinic on track, and in making sure patients feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
